Child Find

The district offers developmental screenings periodically year-round. Children as young as age 2 years 9 months may participate in hearing, vision, and developmental screenings to determine if further evaluations are necessary. Eligible children identified with significant delays will be offered services through enrollment in programs that include special education services in the district at no cost to the parent/guardian. If you think your preschool-age child may have speech or other developmental delays, please call (520) 466-2133 to make an appointment for screening.

If you have an infant birth to 2 years 9 months of age who appears to have developmental delays, please contact Arizona Early Intervention Programs (AzEIP) at (602) 253-1620 to learn about services available for younger children with disabilities.

  • Child Find Notice

Eloy Elementary School District #11 is required by federal and state law (34 CFR 300.220.34 CFR 300.121) to conduct a “Child Find” effort as a means to locate, identify, and evaluate all resident children with disabilities, including children with disabilities attending private schools, regardless of the severity of their disabilities. The purpose of Child Find is to locate these children so that a free appropriate public education can be made available. Upon request, Eloy Elementary will screen any resident child as young as 2 years 9 months of age to determine whether a special education referral is appropriate.

After students are evaluated, eligible students are entitled to a free and appropriate education, including specially designed individualized instruction for disabled students between the ages of 3 and 21. This law applies to every eligible child, regardless of the severity of the disability and assures confidentiality procedures are followed. If you suspect that your child has a disability (emotional, mental, or physical) and does not receive Special Education services, contact the Special Education Department at (520) 466-2133 to schedule a Child Find Screening.

Children Parentally Placed in a Private School or Parochial School

If you have an elementary aged child enrolled in a private or parochial school which sits within the Eloy Elementary School District boundaries, and are concerned that your child may have a disability for which they may be eligible for special education and related services, please talk to the principal at your child’s school. The school will reach out to our lead psychologist to schedule a meeting to discuss your concerns, and those of the school. During that meeting, the team will determine what next steps are appropriate for your child. Should your child be formally evaluated and found eligible, the district will offer an Individual Service Plan, outlining what eligible services would be available to your child.

Home-Schooled Children

If you are formally home-schooling your elementary-aged child, reside within the Eloy Elementary School District boundaries, and suspect that your child may have a disability for which they may be eligible for special education and related services, please contact:

Anna Bell Sauceda
Special Education Director
(520) 466-2133

Mrs. Sauceda will contact you to schedule a meeting to discuss the process and any appropriate next steps. Should your child be formally evaluated and found eligible, the district will offer an Individual Service Plan, outlining what eligible services would be available to your child.
